Baby Trend High Chair in Zanzibar

I read reviews on different high chairs and decided to go to Babiesrus to take a look myself. I noticed that the higher priced chairs were NOT very sturdy and didn't seem very safe. When I took a look at this chair, I saw that it was very sturdy! It has straps for the upper and lower body to secure baby. It also has an extra piece attached to the chair to keep baby from slipping out. You slide the tray out with the pull of a button. The tray cannot be easily removed if a child were to try, so I felt really good about that. The chair can be set high or low to the floor. The entire chair completely reclines to two settings or can be left for the child to sit straight up. The chair itself comes assembled in it's box except for the tray which is easy since you slide it on to a snug fit and lock it. You can take the fabric off to wash if you need to. I decided to buy this highchair even though they didn't have one on display that I could actually see. Overall I'm pleased with my purchase. I love the fact that it has an easy one-hand recline feature. The whole highchair put together in less than 5 minutes, no other tools needed! Folds up nicely when not in use and doesn't take up too much room. I love the pattern, super cute and very good quality. I gave it 4 stars because the seat cover is cloth, I happen to like this feature because of the comfort factor for my daughter, even though it's a pain for me to clean. (I just make sure to wipe it down after each use!) The other reason I gave it 4 stars is because the tray is a bit heavy and a little awkward to try to do with one hand especially if you don't have the wheels locked. Other than that it's a great chair for baby and nice to look at for parents!

I bought this highchair from babies'r'us and few days ago. I like alot of things about it, but I have considered returning it. My son is 11 months old and tall for his age and still he doesn't fit in it very well. The seat is very comfy and it holds him great, but as soon as you put the tray on things change a bit. The tray comes up to his armpits,if he was any shorter it'd go above his little arms. Now I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to have to eat at a table that comes up to my armpits. So we may go back to babies'r'us this week and try to find one with a lower tray. It would probably be great for bigger toddlers, but by then they can sit in a booster, I need a chair for my little guy!

Update: We returned this high chair (babies'r'us are always great about returns) and got the Graco Contempo. It's not as cute by any means, but my son fits in it much better, the tray is much lower! Plus the seat isn't cloth and it can just be wiped off instead of washed...Read more
