Chicco Polly Fabric Highchair With Extra Seat Pad - Bella
Comment: The good features of this high chair are that it folds up easily, has a wipeable cushion, 5-point harness, recline (both the seat back and leg support) and adjustable height. The recline feature was fantastic when my son was 2-4 months old and I was just looking for a place to safely put him in the kitchen while I cooked dinner.
The downsides of this high chair are (1) no crotch bar in the seat -- you cannot strap the baby in one-handed because he'll slip out if he wiggles the tiniest bit before you get him buckled in; (2) the crotch bar is attached to the tray -- my son constantly kicks at it when I'm trying to put the tray on the chair; (3) you need three hands to put the tray on -- the arms of the chair have to be perfectly lined up with the grooves in the tray while you simultaneously depress the button on the center of the front of the tray. Add a squirmy baby into the mix, and it usually takes two people to get the tray onto the chair.
Finally, because the crotch bar is attached to the tray itself, you can't take the tray off to put the tray down anywhere if there's any kind of food on it that might roll or drip off. Thus, when 'self feeding' starts, this becomes a problem because you have to clean the tray first to take it off before you can clean the baby (who, by this point is screaming to get down because he's done).

Summary: GREAT high chair 2010-05-16
Comment: I am going to have my third baby and am surprised by the negative reviews of this high chair. Our first high chair was a Graco and I hated it because the baby, despite being in the 95% percentile for height, sat too low and could not really eat comfortably at the tray.
I loved the Chicco at first for its appearance, and still love the design. I thought the vinyl seats were great; easy to wipe clean. Yeah, every now and then you should get a toothbrush and get the corners but I really think you will have to this with any high chair. You should not put it in the washing machine. I am a neat freak and it never bothered me that I couldn't put it in a washing machine. On other high chairs perhaps you could machine wash the seat cover, but after a couple of washes it isn't going to look as nice anymore.
There is a seam around the tray and perhaps once a month you'll want to run a toothbrush there, too, but it takes 10 seconds. I can't believe people would negatively rate this wonderful high chair just because of that!
I loved the 5-point harness and recline so I could use this high chair even when my baby was newborn. The wheels rolled well and I used it often just to have the baby play while I did chores.
I never had a problem with the tray. In fact, in my opinion it was easier to slide on and off than other brands of high chairs. I could get it on and off with one hand, no problem.
It comes with ¨dishwasher safe¨ tray inserts which are too big for any dishwasher, but I never used them anyway. For me it was just easier to wipe the high chair tray rather than have to wipe an insert AND the tray.
It is true that the bar between the legs is attached to the tray, so when your child gets a little older he can push the tray with his legs if you are trying to force him into the high chair. Honestly, though, if a kid doesn't want to go in a high chair, he could make it difficult in ANY high chair.
I didn't think I was going to have another baby so I donated my Chicco. Now that we are having another, I WILL buy another Chicco Polly high chair.

Summary: Pretty Good 2010-05-12
Comment: Things I like about this chair:
1. The tray stores on the back of the chair
2. There are two tray liners. So far I don't need two, but I know there will be a time. Note: I haven't tried to put it in the dishwasher, there isn't a need. They are really easy to clean off in the sink and it takes 30 seconds.
3. Slim fold
4. Easy operation. All the buttons are orange and easy to locate.
5. Double vinyl covers for easy clean up
6. Adjustable foot rest
7. Can be used as a "youth chair" as she gets older
8. The tray area is a good size. One of the Gracco ones I was looking at, felt like the eating area was way too small for a toddler to easily manipulate their food/bowls/spoon/fork/etc on that small area.
Things I don't like about this chair:
1. The tray takes more work to put on than it should. It's a minor annoyance because I can strap my daughter into the chair first, then put on the tray.
2. My daughter is small and I'd like the straps to be able to adjust a little bit tighter than they do. I have them tightened all the way, but I'd like to go just a little bit more for her petite size.
3. Husband doesn't feel it's as stable as our last high chair. Our last chair was not a fold up and HUGE, which is why we opted for something different. I imagine that the fixed chairs are going to feel more stable than the fold ups across the board. But I can't say for sure since I haven't used a lot of different kinds.
So far I'm happy with this high chair. I'll edit my review after continued use if needed :)

Summary: Chicco high chair 2010-04-29
Comment: I have been using this high chair for about a month now. I am really happy with the quality. I especially like that I can unfold it without having to press any buttons- I can just push the legs apart. Really handy when you have a hungry baby in your arms! It then snaps securely in place and you have to push the buttons for it to collapse.
Despite not being vinyl- I find this chair easy to spot clean. I have not had any major spills, yet.I do have this same model and color in the stroller. Stains do show pretty easily if they aren't wiped up right away, but throwing it in the washing maching on delicate makes it look like new again.
Very pleased with this purchase so far.

Summary: Why would they make one you can't wash? 2010-04-20
Comment: I bought this high chair a couple of months ago in a local store and was pleased with it's structure, durability, and overall look. But when I read the instructions and discovered the cover can only be spot cleaned and is not machine washable, I returned it. Even the store clerk was surprised to learn it couldn't be machine washed and called Chicco to verify. There is cardboard in the cover which is why it cannot be submerged in water. If there is one thing that should absolutely be machine washable, it is an item that a child eats in multiple times a day for months if not years. Any parent (or non-parent for that matter) knows how messy feeding time gets. I didn't think spot cleaning would cut it. I still find it hard to believe a company specializing in children's gear would make a product that cannot be washed. If you truly love this chair, I believe that Chicco now makes a vinyl cover option that can be wiped clean. Definitely something I'd recommend looking into before buying. I moved on to a Fisher Price chair that is not as sleek looking, but that I think will hold up better through many messy meals and maybe even a second child!
