Product Description
Chicco Polly Highchair The Chicco highchair is an exceptional high chair with an exceptional design. Chicco products are easy to use and maneuver about the house. This baby high chair has four casters for easy mobility. It is also extremely easy to clean. The double seat pad is vinyl and thick so baby is extra comfortable. One of the great comforts of the high chair is the 7 different seat positions. It allows the child to grow right along with the Chicco high chair. What makes it that much more special is that the child can sit at the table with mom and dad. The heights allow the baby high chair to look just like a regular chair. The Polly has an easy fold which stands upright for convenient storage. The trays on the high chair are removable and dishwasher safe, another feature designed to help mom and dad.

Summary: Love this high chair 2010-07-14
Comment: i have had this high chair for 3 years now. used it for two kids and soon to be number three. so easy to clean the pad. they have some type of surface on the tray that makes it so easy to clean never stains. the trays are nice and big and no way is my baby getting the top tray off. very well built. like i said have used it almost 4 times a day for three years and only thing that need replacement is the top pad. love the hight ajusment. just love this high chair. it will for sure last me many many good years. oh also love that it fold so small can put it in the car no problem when we have to go on a road trip. i do agree that there are nooks and crannies that are hard to clean a little 409 and a toothbrush and your good. hey you have to clean my sink with a tooth brush to.

Summary: Overall Good High Chair 2009-10-14
Comment: This is the only high chair I've ever used, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. There are some cons so I'll get those out of the way first.

1) even though it has wheels, it's not a smooth beast to move. But, if you're keeping it in one spot for the most part, it shouldn't be a problem.

2) the chair pad traps lots of yuck between it and the sides of the chair. I was always a favorite place for my girly to put her dinner when done. It took a while to realize it was there. Yes, gross! We ended up taking the pad off totally once she was a little older. She doesn't sit long enough to get uncomfortable without the pad. Clean-up now is a breeze.

3) it doesn't stand up by itself when folded; it falls down if you even breathe too deeply. Pain in the butt if you are trying to transport it. For me that is the biggest irritant. Before we had a travel booster seat, we would bring it with us for get togethers. New baby, car seat, snowsuit, blanket, pacifier, bag, extra bag with extra everything, and the stupid high chair that wouldn't take care of itself! But if you aren't going to be folding it not to worry.

Now for the pros...

1) Not too big, not too small. Perfect for us. Fits just fine in our kitchen and dining room.

2) Sturdy enough to withstand the torture of a future stuntwoman, acrobat or daredevil. A full year of use and it looks brand new.

3) Easy to clean, the pad wipes clean very easily. Have to be extra careful to get the trapped food as mentioned above, but the parts themselves are easy to clean, especially if you attend to it right away.

Overall, we're very happy with this highchair.

Summary: I wouldn't wish this highchair on my worst enemy! 2009-02-07
Comment: I have only had one high chair so I don't know how to compare it to others but after becoming pregnant with my second baby, I am not only not keeping it, I would not even give it away- it is going in the trash. There are so many grooves that are food traps. You literally need a toothpick or toothbrush to clean after every use. The liners are not supposed to get wet and after not listening to the instructions and rinsing it in the sink, it is now covered in mold. SO GROSS. Please save yourself and do not purchase this highchair!

Summary: Had this chair 3+ years, still in love with it 2009-01-21
Comment: I have had this chair over 3 years. My sons are 3 1/2 and 1 1/2. I have used it since 6 months with both and am very surprised by the negative reviews. Because I love it so much, I had to chime in. Yes, the tray doesn't fit in the dishwasher but who cares? I don't run my dishwasher 3 times a day anyway, and I do use this 3 times a day...I rinse it off in the sink easy enough, wipe it off, and stick it right back on for the next use.

Also, I rarely even take the tray off entirely but when I do, I find it very easy to get back on with one hand - it's instinctive after a time. Still, if the tray isn't all the way in, you can just slide the little guys right in and then snuggle the tray up to them after they're sitting. Except for the Houdini phase my toddler is now in, I've rarely used the harness (actually use it more now as an escape artist toddler than I did with the baby). The other thing I like about it is that if the tray is off and the arms are out (and I lower the seat a bit), my toddler can climb right in and wait for me. He loves it and it makes me life easier. The chair folds up slimmer than any other I've seen.

Truly, I would never buy a different high chair and so do not run from this one, run to it! I do recommend buying a replacement cover because the vinyl will wear out after 3 1/2 years, which is the reason I'm looking at this chair again online (to check out the different pad-style options to order a replacement, which is just $25 from Chicco). I've never felt the quality of the chair is sub-par, and since it's been used several times a day for 3+ years and is in good shape with the exception of the pad finally tearing, it has to be good quality.

Best buying luck to you, but I don't think you'll be disappointed if you choose the Polly.

Comment:
I will start by saying I used to love this highchair. This was before my son was so active (now 8mos) and before he was having so many solid food meals. Now my opinions of this chair have gone severly down hill.

This chair is impossible to keep clean for the average mom. The dishwashable tray does not fit into the dishwasher (I have the dishwasher that they show the tray fitting into in there advertisements) the tray will not even fit into the dishwasher with nothing else in there, no baskets nothing. The base tray which would not be dishwasher safe even if it would fit has a seam all the way around it, which can only be cleaned with a toothpick, gets food in it at every meal and if your child is teething they will chew on the tray so this must be cleaned after or before every meal.

My newest problem with this chair is that my son will not let me put the tray on once he is in the seat (it only slides on from the front so there is always at least one foot pushing against it) but I guess this is a good thing since it means I no longer have to clean the trays. : )

As for the harness that I have never have had a problem with (I saw some one else complaining that it was too difficult, I think it is just fine. but I also have the Chicco stroller and car seat so maybe I just got used to them quicker)

Oh and back to cleaning the seat cover of this chair is not meant to go in the washing machine so clean it right when the food gets on before it gets dried on. (I have a front loader washer and I have put it in on a quick rinse and spin it comes clean and still seems fine but who knows what i am doing to the insides that are not designed to be soaked?? Its just so much quicker then spot cleaning)

Also the unit folds real easy but does not stand well when folded. When folded the unit does stand, but tips easily so only safe in area in between two items of furniture or walls.

Positives :
1 Before my son was using it to eat, it was a great ride for him because it was easy to wheel. Kept him calm at our meal times.
2 Tray stores on the back of the legs.
3 Latches are easy to get child in and out but not easy for child to open. The difficult portion of the latch is only there to remove the cover.
4 If you care, it is a lot more attractive then most childrens items. Blends well with house depending on the pattern you choose.

I will guess this chair may be right for some people but it turns out it is not right for us, so I am looking to find a new one (I really hate to spend the money but I just don't think I can make it much longer with this one) In hindsight I should have payed more attention to the reviews I read before I chose this one most of the negatives were correct. : (

This is my revised review so it would not let me change the star rating I would not give this product more then 2 stars at this time.
