This was before my son was so active (now 8mos) and before he was having so many solid food meals. Now my opinions of this chair have gone severly down hill. This chair is impossible to keep clean for the average mom. The dishwashable tray does not fit into the dishwasher (I have the dishwasher that they show the tray fitting into in there advertisements) the tray will not even fit into the dishwasher with nothing else in there, no baskets nothing. The base tray which would not be dishwasher safe even if it would fit has a seam all the way around it, which can only be cleaned with a toothpick, gets food in it at every meal and if your child is teething they will chew on the tray so this must be cleaned after or before every meal. My newest problem with this chair is that my son will not let me put the tray on once he is in the seat (it only slides on from the front so there is always at least one...Read more 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Chicco Polly 2-in-1 Highchair with Double Pad (Baby Product) I have had this chair over 3 years. My sons are 3 1/2 and 1 1/2. I have used it since 6 months with both and am very surprised by the negative reviews. Because I love it so much, I had to chime in. Yes, the tray doesn't fit in the dishwasher but who cares? I don't run my dishwasher 3 times a day anyway, and I do use this 3 times a day...I rinse it off in the sink easy enough, wipe it off, and stick it right back on for the next use. Also, I rarely even take the tray off entirely but when I do, I find it very easy to get back on with one hand - it's instinctive after a time. Still, if the tray isn't all the way in, you can just slide the little guys right in and then snuggle the tray up to them after they're sitting. Except for the Houdini phase my toddler is now in, I've rarely used the harness (actually use it more now as an escape artist toddler than I did with the baby). The other thing I like about it is that if the tray is off and the arms are out (and I...Read more By This review is from: Chicco Polly 2-in-1 Highchair with Double Pad (Baby Product) This is the only high chair I've ever used, so I don't really have anything to compare it to. There are some cons so I'll get those out of the way first.
1) even though it has wheels, it's not a smooth beast to move. But, if you're keeping it in one spot for the most part, it shouldn't be a problem. 2) the chair pad traps lots of yuck between it and the sides of the chair. I was always a favorite place for my girly to put her dinner when done. It took a while to realize it was there. Yes, gross! We ended up taking the pad off totally once she was a little older. She doesn't sit long enough to get uncomfortable without the pad. Clean-up now is a breeze. 3) it doesn't stand up by itself when folded; it falls down if you even breathe too deeply. Pain in the butt if you are trying to transport it. For me that is the biggest irritant. Before we had a travel booster seat, we would bring it with us for get togethers. New baby, car seat, snowsuit,...Read more |
