We love that it is the one baby item that isn't full of cartoons or super bright...kind of nice to have a piece of baby furniture that blends in somewhat with our surroundings! I love the storage in the back, I keep a pile of bibs back there all the time. The chair pad comes off quite easily for me for cleaning. There are a few nooks around the wooden slats on the side but I don't find that much of a hindrance. Even the big obnoxious plastic ones have a few nooks and crannies. The top of the tray snaps off easily for washing. Overall I recommend this chair for not only the aesthetics but it also has pretty good function. 11 of 13 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Eddie Bauer Newport Collection Wood High Chair, Stonewood (Baby Product) I definitely do not recommend this high chair. While it is quite lovely to look at, it has one major design flaw - it is NOT easy to clean. There are a ton of little nooks and crannies into which food can fall and get stuck and it doesn't come apart well enough to clean thoroughly. Furthermore, the cushion attaches in such a way that it's virtually impossible to remove and throw in the wash (I had to CUT it off). Terrible design - high chairs get filthy! Babies throw and spill and drop food - a high chair should be super easy to clean. This is one instance where form most definitely does not outweigh function. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Eddie Bauer Newport Collection Wood High Chair, Stonewood (Baby Product) I can't complain too much about this chair, as it was a hand-me-down. (We have the older model.) So for the price, it's alright. With that said, I would not spend money on this.
Pros: * It's a good height for the table. * The top of the tray comes off for cleaning. * It's very solid - all one piece - and so far hasn't tipped over even with baby using it to pull herself up. Cons: * The wood slats on the side are a food MAGNET. Stuff gets stuck in there and you have to scrape and clean to get it out. Funny - baby manages to pull herself up and pick out old bits of food I couldn't reach pretty easily. Gehhhh.... * The pad is SO thin. Baby was fussing - pushing away from her food - and smacked her head hard on the wood back of the chair. It taught her not to do that, but still... * The set up to get baby in and out is a pain. The straps are annoying to fiddle with, the plastic divider for baby's legs more serves as something...Read more |
