I have a 9 month old self-feeder who drops and smears stuff all the time and I just haven't had any issues with cleaning. I'm a working mom and don't have tons of time, so maybe I'm just less precise about cleaning than other moms...I certainly don't use a toothbrush or qtip to clean every single crevice and I don't care if there are a few stray crumbs between the slats for a few days until I get around to brushing them out. I think it's easy to brush away crumbs from the pad and wood and then just use a wet paper towel to get the sticky parts. And even if food gets on the pad--who cares? Wipe it off and move on with your life. I'd rather get down on the floor with my cute baby and play with blocks than spend a lot of time worrying about crumbs. I wash the pad maybe once every 2-3 weeks and that's been fine. The fabric is such that it doesn't show dirt too readily. We put the tray insert into the dishwasher every...Read more 7 of 7 people found the following review helpful: By This review is from: Eddie Bauer Wood High Chair Bryant Collection Cherry (Baby Product) I don't like to write bad reviews but I want to save someone else the time and money. I loved the way this high chair looked. So we got it. It is pretty but it is hard to clean, hard to buckle and hard to get my baby into. There are allot of crevices to get food out of. The wooden slats, the notches the tray locks into and under the t-bar. The strap is very hard to get a squirming baby restrained into. One feeding and the Fabric cover is soiled and needs to be cleaned, they recommend air drying it, so the cover is only good for breakfast. Without the cover my baby slides right down and I have to constantly straighten her up. I have a nice sized kitchen and it does take quite a bit of room. It is bulky which means it is sturdy but makes it hard to move if you need to. The T-bar is nice for snack time but it is hard to cram my one year old into. The tray is a little high so it is at my baby's arm pit area. She is not that short either. The restraint is a loose t-shaped...Read more 7 of 8 people found the following review helpful: By asarum (Brunswick, ME) - See all my reviews This review is from: Eddie Bauer Wood High Chair Bryant Collection Cherry (Baby Product) This high chair has some great features - storage space for bibs and washcloths, removable fabric liner for easy machine washing, removable tray for easy cleaning.
But it is very difficult to clean the seat. My son always wear a bib with a pocket to catch what doesn't make it to his mouth. Even so, a fair amount of little stuff ends up in the cracks on the side of the chair. And though they look great, the wooden slats are way too close to clean effectively. We wipe down everything else after each meal but there is usually still dried food stuck there until we get out a spray bottle and some serious elbow grease! It is a good-looking chair. But if you are looking for a wood chair, I'd look for other ones. I wish we had gotten one that sat directly at the table with adjustable heights. |
