Why I love it: It's very pretty and doesn't look plastic-y, it's sturdy and stable, it seems to be comfortable for my 1-year-old, it was very easy for me to put together, and it has a smaller foot base than most other chairs so it fits better in our small dining room. Why I don't like it: the seat cushion isn't fastened securely at the top of the chair--it just has some little tabs that easily pop out of the chair back. Weird. I have to attach some elastic with a safety pin to hold it on. Also, the buckles of the harness don't latch all that firmly. You sometimes have to really work with them to make sure they won't pop out.
I've heard people complaining that this chair is hard to clean. I don't get this; it does have some little grooves and crevices in the wood, but the cushion comes off easily for cleaning and I...Read more 6 of 6 people found the following review helpful: By Jillybeans "Mom to four girlies under five!" (Oregon, USA) - See all my reviews This review is from: Eddie Bauer Wood Highchair - Westlake (Baby Product) We have owned an older version of this chair (virtually the same except for shape and color...ours is more blonde) since 2006. It has held up well with three children. It's solid, fits nicely at the table (although obviously does not slide underneath the table)
Pros: *The tray is great! The removeable insert is wonderful, and the whole piece is easy to put on and remove one-handed. I love how close it fits to the baby, there isn't much of a gap between their body (I have skinny kiddos) and the tray on the tightest setting. *The storage underneath is a great spot to stash bibs. I like having them handy! *I love the wood look. It matches the stuff in our house so much more, and the finish has stood the test of time, moving three times, dogs and everything else thrown at it! Can't say my other plastic baby things have done so well! *The pad, although thin, lasted a LONG time and a LOT of washes. It went through 2 kids, and a solid 3 years of...Read more 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful: By muppetmomma "KT" (State of Delusion and Confusion) - See all my reviews This review is from: Eddie Bauer Wood Highchair - Westlake (Baby Product) So I purchased this for my 4th child at Target. Assembly was mostly easy. The only problem was the hex bolts under the seat. You install them from the inside after everything else is screwed together. If you have patience (which you need when you have children), it's not that bad. I think the total assembly was about 45 minutes. I used a drill with a screw bit, so it went quickly enough (and didn't split the wood). My daughter is sitting in it now without a cushion and seems to like it. I am going to take the cover from the old Graco Contempo and put it on after it's cleaned. I don't even mind the switch from 5 point harness to a 3 point harness. If I find problems in the future, I am sure I can fashion or purchase a 5 point harness. Being flexible was the key. Knowing it will compliment my kitchen was the payoff. I was a little disappointed about the plastic tray track, as I was hoping to be able to use it as a youth chair and slide it up to the table when she gets...Read more |
