Evenflo Deluxe Big Kid Booster Seat

If your child NEVER falls asleep in the car then by all means buy this seat. If they do, like most kids, then buyer beware. the sides aren't very deep so when your child falls asleep he will be suspended by the seat belt somewhere between his lap and the insufficent side wings.....hopefully staying in the middle (LOL)(because, as the two Evenflo Reps that I spoke with today, said) The seatbelt will yank them back in case of a crash.......which is better it be in the middle than to say be yanked back sideways (which is how my son winds up)into the plastic side wings. They don't consider it a flaw that your kid won't stay back in the seat if asleep.....one Rep even told me that her kid leans forward and bobbles around too....great! I guess if you get the seat for free and don't mind ignoring the fact that in a crash your child will most likely be paralized from what ever part of his spine yanks back into the hard plastic seat then fine...good luck sleeping at night. I bought this big kid booster deluxe with lights over 2 years ago. My daughter was so excited to be able to have and control her own lighting with night driving. And we were thrilled not to be bothered by using interior lighting in our vehicle not to mention it is much safer than interior lighting.
As for sleeping in the seat, because the back is flexible all you have to do is tilt the vehicle's seat back and the booster will lean with it. We saw no problems with head bobbing, falling forward, or to the side while she was sleeping. We bought this booster for comfortable rides as we travel across the US to visit family frequently. Our daughter spends most of the time sleeping because we mostly travel at night.
She has now outgrown this seat and wants us to put lights and cupholders within her reach like this seat provided.
