I have owned four different highchairs and they were all missing some feature that I wanted. This highchair has it all. It is sturdy enough for toddlers and secure enough for newborns. It has wheels, a reclining back, THREE separate trays. The straps are easily removable and washable (perfect for when they are ooated with Gerber peas..) and the pad wipes off super easily. The booster feature is awesome when you need extra seating. Probably my favorite feature is the 5 pt harness. It is very easy to use and pops completely apart when you push the open button. No problems wrestling baby's arms out like in the carseat. This was critical to me when my son choked once and I had to snatch him out super quickly (he was fine :). A wooden highchair might look better in your dining room, but they are not as comfortable for the kids. It is the best purchase I've made since our Little One arrived. Like other parents have mentioned, all of the features are fantastic. The only thing that could have made the chair super-duper perfect is if the maximum height adjustment could be increased. We have high counters in our kitchen and Little One won't be able to eat comfortably at the current maximum height, however, we will cross that bridge when we come to it - it won't be for another few years!
This chair is also great because I am a stay-at-home mother who also cares for my grandmother who has dimentia everyday. We chose the red one because we have red in our dinning room. It rolls on carpet easily. When we first used it we had it reclined, but now my son is 10 months and sits straight up in it. we do not use the straps anymore and I kinda wish we could take them off (but I know they can't for safety reasons). The tray is large enough and my son can feed himself finger foods perfectly. My sis in law has a Chicco one that when I put my son in it, he looks so small and drowned in it. My son is on the small side and he fits perfectly. I can see that a larger/fatter baby may not be as comfortable in it though. |
