Summary: Very good toddler chair 2010-05-25
Comment: I purchased this chair for my daughter when she was about 14 months old because she absolutely hated sitting in her clip-on high chair and we had never bothered to buy a standard high chair. It was pretty simple to put together, but my husband and I are used to assembling flat-packed furniture (almost our entire house is furnished by an IKEA down the street). I did put one back cross bar on upside down because I wasn't paying attention, and if I didn't care that the logo was upside down I could have left it that way easily.
The finish on this chair has withstood our abuse so far, which is no small task with a messy eater and large dogs. There are some areas on the backrest cushion where I didn't wipe up tomato sauces immediately and they left a little halo, but it's hardly noticeable. The seatbelt system works well for us, and I can remove it pretty easily for laundering if I ever get up the motivation. There is a hole in the seat cushion where the center strap comes through that tends to gather spilled food, but it's easy to lift the cushion a little and wipe underneath after meals. I've been impressed with the over-all stability of the chair, too. My daughter tries to climb into it herself, which she hasn't accomplished yet, but no matter where she steps or how she pulls on it I haven't seen it tip at all.
Two notes on the cushion system - one, the seat stays in place by fitting into the notches on the sides of the chair and has a little overhang in front and in back, but it can slide back and forth if your little one gets wiggly and then the seatbelt doesn't fit properly. I've gotten used to making sure the cushion is in place each time I put my daughter in it. Two, the back cushion has a foam post of sorts that goes through the hole in the back of the chair to hold it in place, which works fine unless your kid leans too far to the side. Then the part of the cushion that curves around to support their backs also makes the cushion pull off of the chair entirely. My husband was going to put some self-adhesive Velcro on the back pad if it continued to be an issue, but my daughter has calmed down in her mealtime gymnastics.

Summary: Heavy Duty - cushion doesn't stay put. 2010-01-25
Comment: This chair is great. Came packaged really well, easy to put together - Solid. So solid that I couldn't get the footrest in. I takes some muscle and patience since after putting the thing together; once the things are tightened it's near impossible to put the footrest in. I went back and loosened each side up but was somewhat reluctant to loosen then tighten the bolt for fear of stripping them - either way thru more use we are now able to get the footrest in.
One other thing, the cushion on back works well. So does the lap belt; however the lap belt used in conjunction with the bottom cushion doesn't work efficiently. Even with the belt; when our son goes stiff like a board to try and get out - this action causes the cushion to slide forward and out of place - a minor hassle.

Summary: Love the Chair... Annoyed by the Cushion 2009-10-19
Comment: I got the chair for my daughter who is disabled and who loves to slouch - I was hoping it would keep her sitting up straight. And the chair does a great job of that. It is easy to change the seat height, was every intuitive to put together and it looks great. The chair, in short, is a bargin and I'm really glad I got it.
The cushion, while very cute and comfy, DOES NOT ACTUALLY ATTACH TO THE CHAIR! You just put it on the chair, and the it's supposed to stay in place due to "friction" (?????) Ah, nope. If you're kid sits straight up and down and does not squirm or slouch... sure that works. But I don't think that's how friction works. Unfortunately, gravity is working against the back pad which doesn't fit securely.
I'm using the pads for now, while my daughter gets used to the chair - though I have to get up at least twice in a meal to push the seat cushion back into place. I plan to ditch it pretty soon though.
It's a shame because I really like the chair, but feel totally ripped off by the cushion.
