Summary: 8 years and still going strong 2007-01-13
Comment: I love my high chair and recommend it frequently. I have used mine constantly for 8 years. It rolls great, is so easy to push up to the table or move in front of the TV if I'm, trying to mop my floors. My 4 kids have all eaten thier first cereal in it, the reclining feature makes this sometimes awkward first meal easier to manage. The tray pulls out and pushes in easily with one hand, making it easy to load and unload. The adjustable height makes putting it up to the table for meals quick and painless. When entertaining guests the chair easily folds up and stores in small spaces. I have never had a child stand up or get out of this chair. I have taken it on several vacations, to dinner functions at my church, even the park. Wiping it off after every meal and an all over scrub every few months has kept it looking brand new. I did purchase a new cover for it just after my 4th child started using it, The replacement was about $40.00. I consider this a fraction of the cost if I had to buy a new chair every two years. My chair is well used, looks great, and has been worth every penny. You'd have to be crazy to spend you money on something else

Summary: love the peg perego 2007-01-06
Comment: Okay, I read some of the reviews and found the negative ones sort of silly. We have use our peg perego high chair for EIGHT years and five kids and LOVE it. In fact we ended up with 3 of them for our triplets, and like the older version better than the 2 newer ones we had to add. Today I was actually washing up the last one to put into the attic to save for grandkids. I just can't part with it. I love all the positions although we rarely changed positions. We folded them down to take on vacation. Yes, any high chair will collect food and straps will get dirty. I would NEVER get a cloth seat however b/c I can't imagine having to take it off daily to wash it. We had the leatherette which wiped up very easily. The tray was easy to remove and stayed in place. We love the wheels to pull it up to you...handy with feeding triplets. I realize all kids are different, but with 5 children we never had one try to climb out. In fact one of the things I didn't like about the newer models were all the shoulder straps. I tucked them behind the seat cover and never used them. We did have the leg straps fairly snug however. The only negative was that the white leatherette seat did wear pretty quickly and look dingy and the replacement covers are WAY overpriced.
I did not understand the comment about a baby not being able to reach the tray. When they are that little they of course will not be able to sit up high enough and close enough to the tray. We fed them as 6 month olds in a bouncy seat or the reclining position of the high chair and it didn't really matter how far away the tray was from them.
I would highly recommend this high chair and it is the only one I would buy again...even better when they are a gift...

Summary: Don't waste your money 2006-07-21
Comment: This highchair is overrated. Buy something more simple, and splurge on something else like a Mountain Buggy stroller (now THERE is high quality). I have listed the problems below (including a new one that I haven't seen listed before):
1. IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean. I actually melted the straps/buckles trying to boil them to get them clean. We once had a trail of ants from our back door to the high chair, because despite my best efforts, so much food remained in the cracks and fabric folds.
2. Harness will not adjust for a small baby, even on the tightest setting. Most kids I know could wiggle out of the straps even at a year old, because they don't adjust tight enough. My sister caught her one year old in mid-air, as she dove out of the chair, having wiggled out of the straps. Calls to the company yielded the following response: "Well, not every high chair is right for every child". Gosh, what should I do now that I have spent several hundred dollars???? Thank you very much for a lame excuse for not having a sufficiently adjustable harness.
3. The gap between the tray and the seat is too big, even with the tray pushed all the way in. Child cannot sit back and be eating over the tray. Child must lean all the way forward, but they might be too small to reach. Also, the tray is very high for a small child, and no way to adjust it. For a smaller baby, they can be sitting in the chair with the tray at nose level.
4. NEW ISSUE NOT SEEN PREVIOUSLY IN OTHER REVIEWS: This thing does not hold up over time. Most reviews are from people who are using this thing on their first child. I have had it through 2 kids, and it is in shambles. The fake-leather seat pad has worn out so that it is threadbare. The tray only "catches" on one side (or maybe it always did that). Keep in mind, we did not abuse this chair. We did not travel with it. It got fairly mild use, because we also used booster seats sometimes. The plastic booster seats that I bought for 19.99 (the kind that strap to a regular chair, and fold for travel) were way more useful, adjustable, durable, etc.
I am not afraid to spend more money for a high quality item, but this is not worth it. Don't believe the hype associated with this product, and splurge elsewhere.

Comment: I love this chair.. We recieved it as a gift from my mother inlaw. My son was only 3mos old when we started using it. And there is plenty of room for him to grow.

Summary: OK, BUT FOR THE PRICE, COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER..... 2005-02-26
Comment: i decided this was the one peg perego thing i was going to own (cant afford most of it) and kinda sorry this was it. when i put the tray on and pull her closer to me, the tray pulls out to the next farthest notch so i have to push it back in again. i havent had too much problem with cleaning it. i havent taken the cover off yet. i did use the recline feature for a while until she got used to being in there instead of the bouncey chair and it was kinda hard to recline too. it felt like it was going to break. i did break numerous nails in the process. i would have rather gotten a stroller from them instead and just gotten the wodden eddie bauer chair.
