Prince Lionheart bebePod Plus Watermelon

This is a really great seat. I'd wanted to buy the regular Bebe Pod for some time, when I saw the Plus version I was intrigued by the tray idea. I compared it to the Bumbo version with a tray and chose Bebe because of the mats and toy. It seemed like more value.
I'm pleased with the overall design and love the bright red color. The pommel and tray both attach at the same point. The pommel comes on and off with a twist and the tray has a simple slide lock mechanism.
The toy (which reminds me of a ferris wheel) snaps onto the tray by fitting it into two small grooves. My child can't sit in the pod for long yet, but loves the toy itself so I often place it and the tray on the ground beside so she can continue to play with it.
As the entire seat and pieces are plastic its all easy to clean up with soap and water. The tray mats that come with it are bright and color one with a slice of watermelon, the other with a geometric design. The backs of the mats seem to be...Read more

I found the BebePod to have a very strong chemical smell. I couldn't stand the smell and couldn't image having a new baby around it, so I returned it. It reminded me of a foam workout mat I once owned that had this strong chemical smell for all the years I owned it (and hardly ever used because of of it).

I purchased the Bumbo seat and found it to have almost no smell. They sell a tray attachment for it now too, so except for the toy the BebePod Plus comes with it does the same job for less money.

I just got my Pod a few days ago, and it smells terrible. I only hope that the smell will go away in a couple of weeks, otherwise I'll have to return it. My baby doesn't seem to mind it, but I don't like putting him in there when it stinks so bad. Also, the pommel comes off too easily.

Update: I'm writing an update for this product a few months later. The smell dissapeared ovetime, just like I was hoping. My baby loves the seat, I just hope the smell wasn't there to begin with. So if you are planning on buying this product, I suggest, you do it in advance, before your baby can actually use it. This way the smell won't be there by the time he can seat in it.
