I am very happy with my choice to invest in a Tripp Trapp, and the baby rail is a must. My daughter is pulled right up to the dining room table with us at mealtime and that means easy interaction and no extra clean up. I don't have to deal with a dirty tray. I just wipe off hands, face, and tabletop (and the dog takes care of everything from seat down). I do not have the cushion so I can continue on and just wipe down the whole chair for particularly messy meals. I assembled it myself and I am not tool-savvy. It only requires a hex key and that's the extent of my toolbox! I've already re-adjusted the setting once and it was easier than the initial set-up. The straps are a little hard to adjust on mine, but I don't need to do it often. It is helpful to have the middle strap facing down and out when putting the baby into it, along with hanging the shoulder straps over the back of the baby seat back at first.
