The Stokke® Table Top attaches directly onto the family table. The Table Top includes 6 interchangeable templates, which were developed with guidance from an educator, and can be put under the transparent plate. The templates are great tools for interaction and bonding between you and your child. Use them as backdrops for storytelling, challenging the imagination; and learning about animals, colors, shapes, sizes, numbers and the alphabet. STOKKE® Table Top is made from high quality PETG plastic material which is free from bisphenol and phthalates. The Table top has smooth surface that is easy to clean by simply wipe with damp cloth or rinse it at a kitchen sink. Summary: better than without 2010-03-28
Comment: This product is very expensive for what it is. What it is, is a piece of plastic wtih slightly raised edges that keeps your kid from eating directly off the table. It cannot be washed int he diswasher and it is very bulky to wash in the sink. I admit I like it betterthan having my child eat directly off the table, but the price is crazy for what it is and the reality is that the tripp trapp is just a very messy chair - even with this $100 piece of plastic.

Comment: - good design, easy to clean, good quality - this is how I feel about it. However, the suction cups don't alwyas work that great - they have to be absolutely dust-free (and ideally a little moist) in order to attach tightly to the tabletop (preferably glass).

Summary: Perfect thing to protect my wood table 2010-01-05
Comment: This is perfect for us. It provides adequate protection for my antique table. It does shift a bit and it's a bummer you can't put the top part in the dishwasher, but overall I am happy with the product.

Comment: I was hesitant to order this table top after reading the 2 previous reviews, but decided to give it a try anyway. Am so glad that I did! The table top works really well for our wood table from the Crate & Barrel. Once applied, it sticks nicely to our table, even my husband is having a hard time lifting the top upwards. As the other reviews indicated, sliding it side ways is a lot easier but it still holds tight enough that my 18 months old couldn't do it by himself and he is one strong boy! I am very happy with how the table top works and not to mention the 3 2-side insert cards are super cute.

Summary: VERY Disappointed - especially at this price point 2009-05-24
Comment: I agree completely with the prior review. I LOVE my Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair and hoped this tray would help prevent my table from getting beat up with the many times daily table banging, food spilling, and cleaning that comes with having a one year old.
Well, the tray slides around so easily making it pretty useless. One thing to point out, the tray does NOT slide on our granite countertops, but does slide on our finished wood table. So this may work for you if you have a perfectly sealed surface table. I did email the company for any suggestions and they said to make sure the suction cups were clean and sorry I wasn't happy.
Otherwise, do not use a knife on the tray as it will scratch. The instructions say it is not dishwasher safe, but the email I received from customer service said I could put it in the dishwasher (haven't tried).
Overall, just really disappointed.
